Dee Dee Gatton Age
Dee Dee Gatton is reportedly 39 years old as of October 2026. Several online biographies list her date of birth as August 1, 1987, with Washington, D.C. named as her birthplace. Based on that reported birth date, she turned 39 on August 1, 2026.
However, readers should know that her official professional résumé does not provide a birth date. For that reason, August 1, 1987 should be treated as a widely reported date rather than an officially verified birthday. Some older 2026 articles still describe her as 38 because they were written before her August birthday.
Birthday and Early Life
Online biographies commonly report that Gatton was born in Washington, D.C. Her exact childhood story has remained largely private, and she has not built her public reputation around sharing details about her upbringing.
Her later career eventually brought her back to the Washington area, where she now works in national television news. While some websites speculate about how growing up around the nation’s capital may have influenced her interest in current affairs, there is no need to assume details that Gatton herself has not publicly discussed.
Education
Gatton attended the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Her professional résumé states that she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and graduated summa cum laude, an academic distinction awarded to high-performing graduates.
Her English literature background fits naturally with a career requiring research, concise writing, interviews and clear communication. Rather than beginning with a degree specifically labeled journalism, Gatton developed a strong foundation in language and analysis before building extensive practical experience inside television newsrooms.
Journalism Career
Gatton’s television career stretches back more than a decade. Her résumé lists a role with KPIC in Roseburg, Oregon, in 2013 before she moved to KVAL in Eugene as a weekend anchor and reporter. She was later promoted to a primary anchor and producer position with KLSR.
She moved to KPNX in Phoenix in 2015, where she worked as an anchor and reporter. Her duties included live breaking-news coverage, field anchoring and reporting. These jobs helped Gatton gain experience beyond reading the news from a studio desk.
WICS and FOX
In 2017, Gatton moved to WICS/FOX in Springfield, Illinois, where she worked as a primary anchor and special projects reporter. Her professional résumé credits her with anchoring the station’s evening programming and handling breaking news and field assignments.
Her work in Illinois also brought professional recognition. Gatton’s résumé lists a 2019 Associated Press First Place Award in State Reporting, one of the clearer documented achievements from this period of her career.
WBTV Career
Gatton joined WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2020 as an anchor and special projects reporter. She worked on investigative and consumer-focused stories as well as general news assignments.
Her résumé says her consumer reporting helped viewers recover more than $250,000, illustrating how her journalism extended beyond presenting headlines. Archived WBTV reports also show Gatton covering crime, consumer disputes and community stories during her time in Charlotte.
The National Desk
Gatton joined The National Desk in Washington, D.C., in October 2022, according to her professional résumé. Her current NWT Group profile continues to list her as an Anchor/Reporter with The National Desk, confirming that the national news program remains her professional home.
Her role has allowed her to cover stories with national significance rather than focusing on a single local market. Reports carrying her byline for The National Desk include interviews and coverage related to law enforcement, crime, public policy and major national developments.
Height and Appearance
Dee Dee Gatton’s height is often reported online as approximately 5 feet 6 inches, or 168 cm. This measurement appears across secondary biography websites, but her official professional résumé does not give her height. It is therefore better described as a reported figure rather than an official measurement.
Gatton has dark hair and brown eyes and maintains the polished appearance typically associated with national broadcast television. Her professional image is generally formal and newsroom-focused rather than centered on fashion or celebrity-style personal branding.
Family and Parents
Very little confirmed information is available about Dee Dee Gatton’s parents. She has spent years appearing publicly as a journalist while keeping her immediate family away from her professional biography.
No reliable employer biography or professional résumé reviewed for this profile identifies her mother or father. Websites that attach specific identities to her parents should therefore be approached carefully unless they can point to direct public confirmation from Gatton herself.
Siblings
Information about Dee Dee Gatton’s siblings is similarly limited. There is no dependable public record confirming whether she has brothers or sisters or providing their identities.
This privacy is not unusual for journalists. Unlike entertainment celebrities who frequently discuss family relationships publicly, Gatton’s online presence has generally concentrated on her reporting and broadcasting career.
Husband and Personal Life
Several biography websites describe Gatton as married, and one secondary source identifies Will Dyer as her husband, claiming that they became engaged in 2017 and married in 2019. However, these details are not included in her current professional biography or résumé.
For that reason, it is safer to say that Gatton keeps her relationship and marital life largely private. Reliable professional sources provide far more information about her career than about her romantic relationships.
There is also no strong public confirmation regarding whether she has children.
Net Worth
Dee Dee Gatton’s exact net worth has never been publicly disclosed through a financial record or professional biography. Figures published online are estimates rather than verified amounts.
Some 2026 biography sites place her estimated wealth around $500,000 to $1 million, while others give figures reaching several million dollars. The wide difference itself shows why these estimates should not be presented as fact.
Her principal professional income is expected to come from her long-running career in television journalism. Without salary contracts, investment information or financial disclosures, however, an exact figure cannot responsibly be calculated.
Lifestyle
Gatton does not appear to market herself around an extravagant celebrity lifestyle. Her public identity remains strongly connected to journalism, television reporting and professional news coverage.
There is little reliable information about her house, cars, investments or personal spending habits. Claims describing a luxury lifestyle should therefore be treated with caution. Her visible public life suggests a journalist who places substantially more emphasis on work than on displaying personal possessions online.
Languages
One interesting part of Gatton’s professional profile is her language ability. NWT Group describes her as fluent in Spanish and conversational in Tagalog. Her résumé also lists Spanish and Tagalog among her professional skills.
Her affiliations include both the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the Asian American Journalists Association. She has additionally listed membership in Investigative Reporters & Editors.
Social Media
Gatton has maintained professional accounts across major social platforms. Her résumé lists Instagram @deedeenews, X/Twitter @DeeDeeNews, and Facebook @deedeegatton1.
A 2023 version of her résumé recorded approximately 4,300 Instagram followers, 3,500 X followers and 4,700 Facebook followers at that time. Those figures should not be treated as current totals because social-media audiences naturally change.
Much of her public social activity centers on news, reporting, broadcast appearances and professional updates.
Awards
Gatton has received recognition for her journalism during her career. Her professional résumé specifically lists the 2019 AP Award for First Place in State Reporting.
Her career progression is also notable. Moving from smaller Oregon television markets to Phoenix, Springfield, Charlotte and eventually a national Washington-based news operation demonstrates a steady advancement through American broadcast journalism.
Interesting Facts
A few details make Dee Dee Gatton’s profile particularly interesting. She graduated summa cum laude, speaks Spanish fluently, has conversational Tagalog skills and has worked in multiple television markets across the United States.
She has experience as an anchor, producer, special projects reporter, investigative journalist and consumer reporter. Her résumé also credits her with newsroom leadership and mentoring younger reporters and producers during her career.
Another notable detail is that her public profile remains relatively private despite spending many years on television. Viewers know considerably more about her professional achievements than her home or family life.
Why Her Age Gets Attention
Search interest around Dee Dee Gatton age is understandable because national news audiences regularly see her on television while relatively little biographical information is available through official sources.
The confusion is increased by websites continuing to list different ages. If the commonly reported August 1, 1987 birth date is correct, Dee Dee Gatton is 39 years old as of October 2026, not 38.
Still, because Gatton’s employer and professional résumé do not publish her date of birth, responsible profiles should identify the date and resulting age as reported information rather than an independently verified personal record.
Final Thoughts
Dee Dee Gatton has built a career spanning local and national American television journalism. From early reporting positions in Oregon to roles in Phoenix, Springfield and Charlotte, she steadily progressed before joining The National Desk in Washington, D.C., in 2022.
Regarding Dee Dee Gatton age, online biographies commonly give her birthday as August 1, 1987, which would make her 39 years old in 2026. Her official résumé confirms many important career facts, including her education, stations, languages, memberships and journalism award, while details about her family, height, marriage and finances remain private or based largely on secondary reporting.
This balance between a highly visible career and a private personal life is one of the most distinctive parts of Gatton’s public profile.
